Mochi, a Japanese desert

I received a lot of Japanese ingredients and you can guess that I finished them in no time. After you’ll eat Mochi, you’ ll understand why. It looks like Turkish delight , but the taste is different , it tastes like milk rice.

INGREDIENTS :

  1. 460  g  sticky rice
  2. 520 g sugar
  3. 2 cans – 330 ml coconut milk
  4. 360 ml water
  5. pinch of salt
  6. 1 drop of red dye for food (optional)
  7. oil for greasing the tray
  8. food starch for powdering -5 teaspoons

INSTRUCTIONS:

You start by heating the oven at 160 degrees.  In a bowl , put all the ingredients and mix it until you obtain a creamy paste.

Grease the tray with oil and put the paste in there. Cover the tray with aluminum foil and put in the oven for one hour. After that, you let the desert to cool off for another hour.

Then you put the ‘’jelly dough ‘’ on the starch , cut in shape you want and then you roll them in the starch. You eat them simple, just like that.
